Businesswise: founder and owner of a large number of compagnies, with the accent on security. He has been one of Hollands top personal bodyguards, providing security for industrialists, celebraties, artists and even Bill Clinton when he came to Holland. But Kuipers is also active in importing and producing exclusive motorcycles, organizing events (in the 90’s he was the organizer of the first and only Cage Fight ever in Holland, by the way), publishing compagnies, sportschools, restaurants and so on. He is a selfmade, very succesfilm businessman, who built his compagnies according to the model he reveres: on the basis of Japanese kyokushin karate. With discipline, structure, just rewards and above all: respect for every member of his crew and businesspartners.

Sportwise: Kuipers has always been active in martial arts  and currently holds an 8th dan black belt degree as president of the wereldwijde International Budo Kaikan, an allround style of kyokushin karate that was founded by the famous Masustatsu Oyama. He is considered one of Hollands foremost experts in the area of unarmed comba, self defence and special techniques for ‘heavy duty work’  in special units in  army and police. Kuipers fought in tournaments all over the world and recently (nov. 2006 even made a comeback into the ring, at 42 years of age! He succesfully fought the wellknown Barrington Patterson from England and managed to beat him convincingly.
Henk Kuipers is an expert in building and developing concepts and compagnies, on the basis of thrust and respect for others. A word is a word for him; a handshake as strong as a written legal contract of ten pages.

His view of the future of fighters, coaches and everybody concerned: ‘It can only get better. There is a lot of money to be made: by, and I emphasize, eveybody. Fighters and coaches will get just rewards for all their years of training, blood sweat and tears. But this ‘industry’ must make the important step of professionalising. No more talks in backrooms, shady contract that are only good for the managers of promotor. Everybody has to profit. This can and will happen.’
